WHAT IS MOBILECOOKS ALL ABOUT?

Some years back, a neighbour sent me to get her food from a popular restaurant in our area, the woman was known majorly for her ‘amala and ewedu’. This fateful day, I was humming and playing all the way to the restaurant ignorant of the fact that I was about to witnss something that would stay in my head for a very long time and would make me loose trust in food sellers.

 

The restaurant owner had a little boy of about 3, there was a gutter in front of the shop, after the gutter, there was an open space where she did her cooking. Just as I was about crossing the road, I saw this little boy staggering in his sleep with the intent of peeing in the gutter, time froze when in split seconds this boy with eyes closed peed directly into  an open pot of stew; a big pot of stew. The woman saw the mess the boy had made, spanked him, looked around a bit and stylishly used the big cooking spoon to stir the stew.

 

It’s been almost two decades since this happened and I can still remember this scene clearly, it left a terrible taste in my mouth and an imprint on my mind.

 

Another time, I was going home from school and I saw this woman who sold food by the roadside cleaning up her daughter who had just defecated, then a customer came to get some food and she just cleaned her hands on her wrapper and went to sell.

 

One of the lessons that the 2019/2020 pandemic left us with was the importance of good hygiene, it took us back to the basics, we learnt how something so flimsy as washing your hands can save you from being the partaker of a deadly disease, if we can be that careful with our exterior; then we should pay a lot of attention to our interior.

We also provide fresh meal delivery services (where we prepare fresh meals and deliver them to busy individuals wherever they want), and take care of other utility services within your space, such as cleaning, laundering, repairs, alternative powering, other helpers hiring services, and the likes that helps you totally focus on your work and achieve 101% productivity while at it.

 

 

WHY ‘MOBILECOOKS’?

Growing up, I saw my dad wake up every week day at 4:00 am and leave the house nothing later than 5, he had to beat traffic and resume work at 7: 00 am sharp. His first and only meal of the day was usually dinner.

 

In my early days as a hustler, there were countless times where I forgot to eat all through the day because of how busy I was.

At Mobilecooks, the goal is to create a real-time technology platform that connects users to chef's services, fresh meals and other utility-service workers in an Uber-like manner, such that they get served within minutes.

 

OUR ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR:

Since our inception, we have been able to provide jobs for over 200 chefs, we have generated nothing less than 3,000 liters of fresh food and we have served more than 500 clients.
